Terms and Conditions

The terms you accept by using this website and the MangoSSH applications — what you may do with them, and what we do not promise.

Last updated 12 October 2026

The short version

  • Use the software for anything lawful, including at work. It is free today for individuals, self-hosters and non-enterprise use.
  • It comes with no warranty. These are tools that reach into other people's machines, and you are responsible for having the right to do that.
  • Nothing here takes away a right you have under the law where you live that cannot be waived.

What these cover

These terms are between you and MangoSSH, and they cover this website, the documentation on it, and the applications and server components published here: MangoSSH, MangoScreen, MangoFly, MangoWiFi and MangoDock.

Using the site or installing any of the software means you accept them. If you do not, do not install it.

Your licence to use the software

You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the software on as many machines as you need, for as long as these terms are met.

Everything is free to use today, with no feature held back and no licence key required — for individuals, hobbyists, homelabs and self-hosters, and currently for non-enterprise use generally. Where a commercial licence is offered for company use, it is agreed separately in writing and those terms sit alongside these.

What you may not do

Reverse engineering is restricted only to the extent the law where you live permits that restriction. Where your local law gives you a right to decompile for interoperability, or any other non-waivable right, this section does not take it away.

  • Resell or redistribute it — Do not sell, sublicense, rent or republish the software or bundle it into something you sell, without written permission.
  • Remove what identifies it — Do not strip copyright notices, branding or licence text from the builds.
  • Use it against machines you have no right to reach — Covered in its own section below, because it matters more than the rest of this list.
  • Break the law with it — Including export controls and sanctions. The software is published from the United States and you may not download or use it where that is prohibited, or if you are a person or entity subject to applicable sanctions.

You are responsible for what you connect to

This software exists to reach other computers: to open a shell on them, to see and control their screen, to move files, to manage their containers, to put them on a private network. That capability is neutral. What you do with it is not.

You must have authorisation for every machine you reach, every screen you share and every network you join. Where you share a desktop or broker access for somebody else, you are responsible for telling them what is happening and for whatever consent or notice the law requires. Where you record a session, the same applies.

We have no visibility into any of it, and no ability to intervene. The responsibility is entirely yours.

Servers you run yourself

The relay, the vault server and MangoFly's coordination server are yours to operate. You choose the hardware, the network, the certificates and who may use them; you are responsible for keeping them patched, backed up and configured sensibly, and for the people who use them.

A relay or vault server you run is not our service, and nothing in these terms makes us responsible for it.

The installers are not code-signed yet

Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will warn you about builds downloaded from this site, because the installers do not yet carry a code-signing certificate. Code signing is in progress.

Checksums are published beside each release so you can verify what you downloaded is what was published. We recommend you do. The warning is expected, but a warning you have learned to click past is a habit worth not forming.

No warranty

The software and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the software is free of defects, that it will run uninterrupted, that it is fit for any particular environment, or that it will protect you from any specific threat. The documentation states known limitations plainly and those statements are descriptions, not promises.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. Where that is so, the exclusions above apply only as far as that law permits.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, lost revenue, business interruption, or the cost of substitute software, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if we have been told such damage is possible.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for all claims relating to the software or this website is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the software in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the applicable law.

Third-party services

Some features reach services operated by other people when you configure them — an AI provider whose key you supply, an identity provider, a cloud platform, a webhook endpoint. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, not by these, and we are not responsible for them.

Support

Free use comes with no service level and no guaranteed response. The public feedback board and the contact address are both read, and most things get an answer, but nothing here promises one by a given time.

Agreed response times come with a paid licence, under the separate agreement that creates it.

Changes to the software and to these terms

Features may be added, changed or removed between releases, and documentation is updated as that happens. Nothing obliges us to keep a particular feature.

These terms may change. The date at the top changes when they do, and continuing to use the software after that means you accept the revised version. A change that materially reduces your rights will be called out rather than left to be noticed.

Ending it

You may stop using the software at any time by uninstalling it. Your data stays on your machines; we hold nothing to return or delete.

This licence ends if you breach these terms in a way you do not put right, at which point you must stop using the software. The sections on warranty, liability and governing law survive that.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the parties submit to the state and federal courts of the state in which MangoSSH is established.

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force and that provision applies as far as it can.
