Cookie Policy
This website sets no cookies at all. This page explains what that means and how to check it for yourself.
Last updated 12 October 2026
The short version
- No cookies are set by this website. None for analytics, none for preferences, none for advertising.
- That is why the notice at the foot of the page has one OK button and no Accept/Reject. There is nothing to consent to.
- One localStorage key is written, and only if you press OK on that notice, so it stays dismissed. Nothing else is stored.
What this site does not do
- No analytics — No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon. Nothing counts you.
- No advertising or tracking — No pixels, no remarketing tags, no social embeds, no fingerprinting.
- No preference cookies — There is no theme toggle, language picker or dismissible banner whose state would have to be remembered.
- Almost no browser storage — A cookie policy that only mentions cookies can be technically true and still misleading, so in full: the site writes exactly one localStorage key, mangossh:cookie-notice-dismissed, and only when you press OK on the notice at the foot of the page. It holds the value 1. Nothing else — no sessionStorage, no IndexedDB, no cookie.
- No third-party requests — Scripts, styles and the typeface are all served from this domain. Loading a page contacts nobody else, so nobody else gets the chance to set anything.
Check it yourself
This is the sort of claim that should not be taken on trust, and it happens to be easy to verify.
- In your browser — Open developer tools, go to Application or Storage, and look at mangossh.com. Cookies is empty. Local Storage holds the one dismissal key described above, and nothing if you have not pressed OK.
- From a terminal — Run curl -I https://mangossh.com/ and look for a Set-Cookie header. There isn't one.
- On the network — Watch the network tab while a page loads. Every request goes to mangossh.com, and to downloads.mangossh.com if you download something.
The one exception that could appear
Cloudflare serves this site. If its security layer ever challenges a request that looks automated, it can set a strictly necessary cookie as part of that check. That is a security mechanism rather than anything we configure, it carries no analytics, and under the ePrivacy rules it needs no consent.
We have not seen one issued in normal browsing, and nothing on our side asks for it.
The notice at the foot of the page
It exists because “we use no cookies” is worth saying out loud, not because any law requires a banner here — none does, since nothing is set that would need consent.
So it has an OK button and no Accept or Reject. Offering a choice between accepting and rejecting something that does not exist would be theatre, and would imply a decision you do not actually have to make.
The applications are a different thing
This page is about the website. The desktop applications store settings locally on your own machine — window layout, serial port profiles, your host list — because that is how a desktop application works. None of it is a cookie, none of it leaves your computer, and the Privacy Policy covers it.
MangoDock, which you install on your own server, does set a session cookie in your browser once you sign in to it. That is your installation on your infrastructure, documented in its own access documentation, and nothing to do with this site.
Changes
If this site ever starts setting a cookie, this page will say which one, what it is for and how long it lasts, before it is switched on.
